Bed & Breakfast Fischerhaus Salem

The park and forest around the hotel are a lovely place to relax, and we often spotted deer and other animals. Lake Constance is nearby, with some nice trips to take from there. We were almost the only guests during our three-night stay in June 2024, and the owners gave us excellent service. They’re very accommodating and friendly, as is the staff. We left feeling completely refreshed, and we’re grateful for the wonderful hospitality. We’ll definitely return. We first stayed for one night in July 2023 and immediately felt away from everyday bustle. The house belongs to the Prince of Baden and has such charming character. It’s surrounded by a spacious, park-like garden with several thoughtfully placed little seating areas. Our room was clean, stylish, and furnished to a high standard. It was so quiet that we slept better than we had in ages. Breakfast was excellent, with some served in the breakfast room and more set out on a small buffet that was promptly replenished. Coffee from the machine was available all day. Guests share one table, which worked fine while only a few others were there, though it could feel cramped if the house were full. The staff member was friendly and helpful. We were thrilled and would love a longer stay next time. On both visits, the room and hotel were very clean and stylish. During the later stay, we looked forward to breakfast each morning. Almost everything was homemade and delicious, including the baked goods from the hotel’s own cook, and anything that ran out was promptly replenished.

Breakfast was lovely, served on a tiered stand at the table, and the setting was pleasant, with the garden as another option. The quality was high, though the rolls were a bit scarce at first; more arrived as soon as we asked. Our room was tastefully decorated and had a nice bathroom. The place is small but well done, very clean, and quiet. It suits anyone wanting a restful break away from the crowds, as long as the drive to Lake Constance doesn’t bother you. We’d recommend it.

Breakfast was delicious and healthy each day, and they happily adjusted it for special requests. The owners are welcoming and very friendly, and they’re full of suggestions for things to see in the area. The rooms have comfortable beds and all the furniture you need. A great fit for a quiet cycling break or for families exploring around Lake Constance, with Switzerland and Austria also within reach.

The hotel is charming, polished, and very clean. We were greeted so warmly and courteously by the host, and the staff we met were just as lovely. They took care of every request, even at breakfast. A heartfelt thank you to them.
