We spent five nights in the roomy apartment and felt at home straight away. Mrs. Schnakenberg welcomed us so warmly, and we had everything we needed. There’s even a big extra room, so it works well for families, small groups, or a celebration. The village bell gives a gentle wake-up call at 8:00 a.m. Dat Litsche Haus is an old farmhouse with two lovely holiday apartments, tucked beneath ancient oak trees in a quiet little village. The Oste lowlands and the striking geest scenery make it feel like a real find. We took a canoe out on the Oste River, and there are great cycling routes around too. If you want a proper nature stay without distractions, this is a great place to base yourself. A clear five stars for nature lovers.

The hostess made us feel very welcome, and the place has been renovated with real charm. It’s an old barn now set up with two apartments and a spacious shared room. Upstairs there’s a dormitory with as many as seven beds, and the facilities are very well equipped. A couple of things kept me from giving five stars. There isn’t really any privacy in the dormitory, and the spiral staircase could be awkward, especially as it leads to the only shower for that apartment. Being close to the farm may bother some guests too. The access areas are very clean, with no mud, but you can clearly smell the silage.

Irma has put together a really nice range of books and magazines in the bedroom. It’s clear she gave it thought, and we appreciated it. The Wi-Fi also worked surprisingly well out in this rural setting. We stayed five days at Irma's farm in the smaller apartment, which had a cozy feel and a kitchen equipped well enough for us to bake a delicious apple pie. The shower’s hot water wasn’t always there, but Irma checked with us, and once we confirmed the problem she dealt with it right away. It’s somehow tied to the biogas plant and can be reheated immediately, so it all worked out. We often rent places in the countryside and would gladly recommend the Oste-Ferienhof. The house itself is quite an experience, and the hosts are wonderful ladies. I’m really glad we happened to find this accommodation. It’s incredibly peaceful. If you get the chance, we definitely recommend it :)

We’ve stayed here twice now, and the house is still such a charming, beautiful place. The owners are incredibly kind too. We’d happily return again and again.
