Haus Bachmatt

The area is amazing and the view is breathtaking. We had a beautiful apartment and lovely landlords who were very friendly and accommodating throughout our long stay. I highly recommend it. Thanks for everything, and see you soon.

The location is very quiet but still central, and it’s an easy, pleasant walk from the house into town. There’s a lovely balcony, a beautiful garden, and parking. Drinks are available cheaply in the building, and the friendly owners have clearly thought through even the smallest furnishing details. The holiday apartment is beautifully and lovingly furnished, clean, and comes highly recommended. A perfect score all around. It couldn’t be better.

The balcony looked out over the valley and vineyards, and the hillside grounds were beautifully kept, with extra places to sit. Haus Bachmatt is peaceful, though walking back from the restaurants and shops in central Sasbachwalden takes a little effort uphill. We stayed two weeks in a well-equipped apartment, and the Lieser family were friendly and happy to suggest excursions. There are lovely walks starting in the village, and day trips to the Black Forest or the Rhine Plain and Alsace are easy to manage.

We’ve stayed in several apartments with the Maurath family over the years, and Haus Bachmatt is an easy recommendation. The place is clean, welcoming, and has a lovely feel throughout. Except for the pandemic, we’ve spent a winter holiday in beautiful Sasbachwalden nearly every year for more than eight years. We’ll happily be back again soon.
