Bernsteinsee Home and Ferien Forest Chalet

The restaurant was a real highlight for me. The food was delicious, the atmosphere pleasant, and most of the staff were warm and professional. The young man who took our pizza order on the second evening was especially welcoming, and the hands-on owner was down to earth and checked that we were happy with our meals. I’d gladly recommend eating there, though a little more flexibility and warmth would help. My room was bright, spacious, and had what I needed, and the beautiful location is reachable by public transport. There’s still room for improvement in the cleaning, though. The staircase was filthy when I complained and still hadn’t changed by the next morning, and the outside entrance to my room was dirty too. Cleaning the restaurant and rooms alone doesn’t cover it. The 3 pm to 6 pm check-in window felt very restrictive. I also found the female receptionist’s manner a bit bossy and arrogant, and felt she could use training to handle different customers and situations better.
