Kurhotel Sassnitz

The sauna was being renovated while we were there, so I can’t say what it’s like. The room was comfortable, with two big windows and one that opened all the way. The Kurhotel has a lovely nautical feel, with sea-themed decorations throughout, and most of the staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly. We did enjoy the breakfast, which was excellent, but got conflicting information about whether it was included. At check-in, I asked and was told yes. At checkout, someone else said it cost 25 euros a day for the two of us. My husband and I still had a mostly enjoyable stay, and it’s a good place to stay when visiting Sassnitz.

There’s a scenic harbor within walking distance, with several restaurants nearby. The old forest is just a short drive away.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were kind and competent. There’s also a nice restaurant downstairs. My room was spacious, but being up in the attic meant I couldn’t see outside. The furniture was old, and the toilet could have been more comfortable. It’s an old building.

The rooms were fine, but the location wasn’t where we’d booked, and the staff didn’t give us any useful answers. In hindsight, the reviews on the booking.com listing also looked sketchy. We drove 2 1/2 hours to the listed place in Mukran, only to be told there that they’d never had a hotel there. Someone then told us over the phone that the hotel was somewhere else and we’d been rebooked. About 1,5 hours later, we arrived at the other place and were told they couldn’t do anything about it. It seems they have a strange setup with a booking.com location that doesn’t actually exist.
