Hotel Schlee

At Ristorante Brigante, the steak was tender, juicy, full of flavor, and seared beautifully. The fresh vegetables were well prepared too, but the tomato salad was the surprise: ripe, flavorful tomatoes with a light dressing that let their sweetness come through. The service was friendly and attentive, and they made sure everything was right. I had a great meal and highly recommend Ristorante Brigante for steak, vegetables, and tomato salad.

I've stayed at Hotel Schlee many times over the last 30 years, and it just keeps getting better. The restaurant is fantastic, and they serve the best pizza I've ever had. It's a lovely little place about 20 minutes outside Munich, far enough to get away from the big city but still close enough to enjoy it.

We stayed for a few nights during Oktoberfest. The town is small, quaint, and pretty, and the hotel is only steps from a train station that goes straight into downtown Munich. It's one of the first stops, so getting a seat is easier. The owners were very kind and let us arrive late after car trouble. Breakfast was included, with a delicious German spread of meats, breads, cheeses, and more. There's also a full service restaurant downstairs, though we couldn't try it because of our schedule. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere cheaper outside downtown. Plenty of people, including us, were dressed up and heading into the city from here. The only downside for us was that the room had two single beds instead of a queen or king.
