Alpenhotel Dahoam

We were charged €15 a day for our dog, though that wasn’t made clear when booking through booking.com. The way we were spoken to was the bigger issue. We were scolded like naughty children when the dog peed in the car park, and later told off for bringing the dog into the restaurant for breakfast. Why not put up a sign or just explain it politely at the time? It really isn’t difficult to speak nicely to guests.

The owners are so friendly, and the rooms are really cute. I loved the inspiring view from the balcony, and the bathroom was comfortable and super clean. The place is conveniently close to the entrance to the Smuggler’s Trail hike. I’d love to come back one day.

The restaurant is very good, and you need to order dinner a day ahead so they can prepare enough for the guests. That way you know the food will be fresh and well prepared. The interior was beautifully renovated in 2018, which makes this a great place to stay in the mountains, where German hotels usually look old and tired. My only small complaint was that the pillows were flat and there weren’t enough of them.

The location makes it easy to explore the area, and the rooms were clean. The staff were welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The food was excellent too. Highly recommended!
