The rooms were clean, but dated, and breakfast was average. We also felt uncomfortable in the breakfast room, where the door was almost closed. Ms. Frick seemed to be everywhere as soon as we entered the hallway, and we had the constant feeling of being watched. She handled and moved the bath towel every day if it wasn’t hanging in its designated spot. One evening, my pillow had disappeared because she said I didn’t need it since I had brought my own ergonomic one. She could at least have asked before moving it. Cleaning the room is fine, but guests’ things that are in use shouldn’t keep being touched or rearranged. We couldn’t understand the positive reviews. The landlady wasn’t exactly welcoming, and a real conversation never got going. Back in school, we’d have said she was always trying, but it just wasn’t enough. If we hadn’t looked online and found out it was a winery, we wouldn’t have known. There was no invitation to tour the winery or anything like that. I didn’t try to initiate anything, since Ms. Frick had already lost my favor when we arrived with her snide comments and reprimands. The picture of her daughter as a wine queen hanging in our room bothered us. We don’t think it belongs in a guest room, especially as one was already in the breakfast room. It’s a shame. We’re used to better service on our travels.

I loved the wine hike at the Alfred Frick winery. It wound through lovely vineyards with breathtaking views, and the tasting afterward was superb. I got to try a diverse selection of exquisite wines. The staff knew their stuff, and Alfred Frick's passion for winemaking made the whole experience unforgettable. I’d highly recommend it to anyone who loves wine.

We’ve been visiting the Frick Winery for years and have taken part in different events. They offer private guided wine tours, and even ran online tastings during the coronavirus pandemic. Our most recent visit was for a wine tour. The owners are always friendly and give you a warm welcome. I love the wines, especially the off-dry ones. They taste delicious and feel perfectly balanced to me, with low residual acidity and a full-bodied character. I have only good things to say about the Frick Winery and the Frick family, and I highly recommend them.

We were a family group of 12 people with a dog, and the Frick family made the afternoon and evening a wonderful experience. We started with a delicious welcome drink before setting off on the hike. The guides shared lots of information and answered all our questions. At the top, we had lovingly prepared snacks with a breathtaking view. Back at the winery, we tried more wines and had a delicious dinner. Everything was organized so well. Thank you, we really enjoyed it!
