Atelier Hotel Sonne

For a transit stop, this worked as a basic hotel. There was no staff around, just a key to collect from a locker. The room was warm, but the windows open onto the street, so it was either noise or heat. The church bells start ringing at 6 in the morning. The Italian restaurant downstairs serves nice food, and the bakery across the street has a good breakfast. There were no smoke detectors in the room, though the sockets for them were still there.

The Pinsa is seriously that good. Eat here or get it to go. The staff are friendly, and in summer it’s a great place to sit outside with your food on a hot day.

My company booked me a room while I was in the area for work. I arrived at night, which was a mistake. If I’d come during the day, I would have canceled and booked somewhere else right away. I honestly can’t understand how this place has a 4-star rating. The problems start at the entrance, where a broken ledge on one of the steps makes the stairs hazardous. The room was just as bad: dirt and dust everywhere, cobwebs, and a bed full of someone else’s hair. The floor hadn’t been mopped or even vacuumed in a long time. The TV couldn’t be used because its power cord was broken and left loose with bare wires. They’d left two cups and a tea bag for each, which might have been nice if the cups weren’t so dusty and grimy. I’d advise against staying here.
