Haus TonART

The surroundings are the one good thing here. Communication was very poor, and on arrival I had to clean the kitchen and dishes myself. There was no soap in the toilet, the shower smelled musty, and dead spiders were on the bed. The glass entrance door had no curtain, so people could see you while you slept. Even a chair came apart when I moved it a little. For the price, it was very poor value, which is a real shame. With better upkeep and cleanliness, I could recommend it. As it is, it feels more like a dumping ground for foreign construction workers.

The toilet was too small for my liking, though maybe I'm just too big. Take your pick. 😎 The room furnishings are a little dated, but nothing major. The price is fair, the landlords are friendly and easy-going, and the location is quiet and good. Simply excellent.

The kitchen is okay, and there are two toilets, two sinks and a shower. It's spacious, though I don't know what the inside of the house is like. The Wi-Fi is very slow, and there's a strange smell. I noticed black mold in places that looked like it had been scrubbed in a hurry. Behind the house is a veranda-like area with five bunks. Maybe it's lovely in summer, but in fall, both the garden and house look depressing. With temperatures just above freezing, the humidity inside stays high. The floor is at ground level, and the only heat comes from the bathroom towel rail.

The garden has so many lovely spots. It feels like a garden show, just much more natural and not artificial. Haus Tonart and the people who live there felt like a little heaven on earth to me. The caretakers and house parents are so kind, and their artistic flair is outstanding. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return if I get the chance. Thank you for such a wonderful time, and I wish the house and its extensive grounds continued strength. SIMPLY HUMAN.
