The woman running the hotel was absolutely unfriendly, and it felt like she enjoyed arguing with guests 🤣. The rooms were cold and badly insulated, and I found a spider as big as a car key in mine. The photos are very old, and the whole building needs renovating. For almost the same price, you can sleep in a 3 star hotel in Heidelberg. I hope you don’t make the same mistake we did. Just a disaster.

Sir, Shanta Bär is an old family friend of ours. We stayed at Jamadoba Collieries Dhanbad. Could I have Shanta Bär’s email address? Best regards, Tamal Sinha

The owner was very nice and extremely friendly, and I’d definitely stay again. The rooms are small and simple, but cozy and very clean. Breakfast was straightforward but really good, with nothing missing. Thanks again, Mrs. Bär, for the lovely food gift. It was delicious. A lovely hotel at a reasonable price.

This is a good choice if you want affordable, simple accommodation where everything is right. Our dog was welcome too. Mrs. Shanta Bär cooks German or Indian food herself and takes care of guests like a mother. Breakfast is generous and made with care, so you won’t leave hungry. If the landlady has time, you might also get philosophical conversation at no extra charge.
