I stayed for four nights and came away happy. My room was a cute, modern single with clean furnishings, a balcony, and a walk-in shower. The bathroom window doubled as a mirror, which was a first for me and a clever use of space. When the weather was nice, it was comfortable to sit outside. I was fine with the no-smoking rule in both places, since smoke could drift up to the guests above. Dinner was the highlight for me. The roulade with Spätzle is worth the extra cost. Breakfast was plentiful and perfectly good, and I enjoyed how friendly it felt to be recognized each morning. On my first morning I filled in the registration form and got a little booklet of discounts for local attractions. I arrived around 10 pm and had called ahead. Late check-in was easy, with my key waiting in a small safe, and they even asked what time I wanted breakfast. There are six free parking spots, all available when I arrived. One afternoon the owners politely asked me to move my car because it was in front of a gate they needed to use. That was no trouble. I usually left for work around 9:30, so the cleaner kindly saved my room for last. I told her she didn't need to clean it every day anyway. I also want to clear up the complaint about the windows: they have sensors that switch the heating off while a window is open, then back on when it's shut. That seems like a way to save electricity. I've seen some negative reviews and really don't understand them. I have no complaints. If you're after a small, charming, family-run place where the owners care and remember your name, I'd say give it a try. I'll be back.

I can't recommend this place at all. There are so many rules that you start wondering whether you're allowed to breathe. The notice about having to pay 160 euros if you connect someone else's device to the TV seems ridiculous. There was also a locked door in my bathroom, and I have no idea what was behind it. The owner seemed to keep an eye on guests, even watching while we smoked or ate breakfast. After a five-hour drive, we were told exactly how to park. Later, while we sat in the car briefly before breakfast, we were told to turn off the engine because people were asleep, even though we weren't on a main road with rush-hour traffic. The windows have electric locks so he can see which ones are open, too. Extremely annoying.

The house is right on the main road, and I strongly advise against staying here. Even after a long drive, the owner insisted on a particular parking setup and assigned spot instead of letting us arrive in peace. While we filled out the registration form, we were also told that giving false information is a criminal offense. Trouble seems guaranteed.

It's a peaceful spot, with a forest nearby that's lovely for a relaxing walk. The owner is friendly, and the restaurant food is delicious.
