Waldeslust Apartments

We stayed at Waldeslust in July 2019 and would absolutely stay again. The rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. It’s perfect for short hikes, longer bike rides, or just sitting outside with a book. Waking up to fresh-cut hay, crisp mountain air, and coffee was incredible. And you’ll love the owner Jeanine, her smiling face belongs on billboards.

It’s taken me a while to write this. We were two families, three adults and kids in one group and four in the other, with three children altogether. We came to Germany to explore the Black Forest and followed all the Corona measures. We first booked an apartment and a hotel room at the same venue through booking.com, but for an irrational reason the site cancelled both just two days before we were due to arrive. We followed up but got no response. I called the host Ms. Jenning directly, and luckily she helped us get a good deal. By then the apartments were taken, so we went with hotel rooms instead. We stayed at Waldelust from 22nd July 2021 to 26th July 2021. The rooms were nicely designed and clean, with a reasonable amount of space, good-quality fittings, and a proper bathroom and WC. The property sits a little way off the main road, which adds to its charm: it’s peaceful and cozy, close to nature and the forest. The host is helpful, always smiling, ready to assist, and speaks English. She looks after the regular cleaning of the rooms and hotel areas, and handles things like breakfast. She also suggests nice places to visit, and there’s a handy touchscreen tour guide on the first floor. Hotel guests can use a shared kitchen for quick meals. Breakfast is buffet style, not fancy but healthy and enough, and it’s arranged in time slots so the Corona measures are followed well. You can rent an E-bike to explore the forest nearby, which is great for biking and walking. There are also shops a reasonable distance away, including a DM shop and a fuel station. I personally liked the property and its always-smiling host, and I’d be pleased to visit again.

I love staying in one of these beautiful apartments, which are fully equipped. The owner is friendly and helpful whenever you need something. It’s a perfect place for a break, so peaceful and quiet behind the house that it feels like the foxes and hares are saying goodnight to each other.
