Ringhotel Hohenlohe

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were both professional and friendly. A lovely hotel.

My more recent stay was a much better experience. The restaurant food was great, there seemed to be more people working at the bar, and I finally got to use the sauna. Still, the air conditioning is a major problem. I was there with a large group, and everyone said their rooms were far too hot at night. We had to sleep with the balcony doors open, which meant dealing with the noise from the river and the church bells at 6:30 in the morning. Staff said the AC is switched off in the colder months, which would make sense if the rooms didn't get uncomfortably warm. We asked about massages a few days into our ten-day stay, but they were already all booked. The gym is tiny. On my earlier visit, it was my second time at the hotel. Breakfast and the view were amazing, and the cleaning staff always did a wonderful job. But bar service was incredibly slow, and the bartenders seemed very inexperienced. The AC never seemed to work for me or the other people I was traveling with. The sauna closed at 8:30, massages weren't offered after 4 pm, and when they were available, they were already booked. For the price, I expected a lot more. It was very disappointing.

We got a room upgrade because we were traveling with a baby, and the room was great. The wellness area was lovely, the views were great, and the staff were friendly. We also really enjoyed the food at breakfast and dinner. A very positive stay, and I hope we can come back.

We thought we'd landed in the middle of nowhere, but Schwäbisch Hall turned out to be a charming medieval village, and the hotel was an old building kept in very good condition. Our room was comfortable, breakfast had everything we wanted, and we enjoyed the round indoor pool. Dinner was tasty too, with a nice atmosphere. We like quiet, charming places, so it suited us well. A few facilities that would normally be included in the price were closed, including the gym and outdoor pool. We would have given it four stars for that, but we'll save those for our next visit.
