Breakfast was okay, and there was enough to eat. The owner is very friendly and clearly tries hard, but the facilities are inadequate and badly out of date. The place feels very old, with no sign of investment for years. The cleanliness was disappointing too: stains on the tablecloths, marks from previous guests in the toilet, and even hair. You can't look too closely. Our room had no heating of its own. The owner said the underfloor heating in the adjoining bathroom was meant to warm it, but it was really cold. After we asked, we got a space heater, and the broken window was repaired quickly. Still, the room got cold again overnight, and the next day it stayed completely cold without the heater. We couldn't sleep with the space heater running. In the morning, condensation was running down the window. It seems heating and insulation are lacking. There were only a few very thin summer blankets, and the pillows were so worn out they should have been replaced long ago. Sound carries easily between rooms, so we could hear conversations and other activity, and it kept us awake. Not everyone is considerate, though the conversation volume was certainly normal. The nearby Europa-Park didn't make up for the overall experience. Such a shame. :(

The beds had stains and hair on them, and sleeping there was a nightmare. It was also too hot to fall asleep. The Wi-Fi barely worked, at most for 20 seconds, and breakfast wasn't great either.

It's about 15 minutes by car from Europa Park, and the rooms are clean. Outside, though, the yard and terrace were a mess. Room cleaning seems to mean only making the beds. The parking area is small, with space for at most four cars, so the rest have to park outside the guesthouse. Breakfast was poor, with no vegetables at all.

For around €30 per person per night, this little country hotel is excellent value and really inexpensive. The owners don't speak French, but we always find a way to understand each other.
