Hotel Weißer Hirsch

It has a beautiful look and a remarkable, almost movie-like atmosphere.

We stayed at the Weißer Hirsch over Easter and my birthday, and had a wonderful time. The historic building has a special charm, and from our lovely room we could see the castle and countryside. The location is one of a kind, and the staff were friendly throughout. We'll definitely be back soon.

The balcony view is fabulous, and the rooms are simple but clean. Prices are reasonable for a nice hotel. It's a shame the owner isn't local and that the charming rustic place isn't being made the most of. There aren't many staff, which leads to communication problems. Still, they can arrange special requests like vegetarian food if you let them know in advance.

From the restaurant, the valley view is breathtaking, whether you're there for breakfast or dinner. Breakfast itself was excellent, and the staff were attentive, though wearing their own clothes made it hard to tell who was a guest and who was working, which felt unprofessional. The hotel sits on a scenic high plateau and is easy to reach. It's an attractive building aside from what look like later additions. The structure is aging, and both the building and rooms badly need renovation, even though there's clearly a lot of potential for improving it as a hotel.
