The rooms, service and breakfast were all great. What spoiled things was the burly security guard patrolling the building at night. He was incredibly rude, with a loose tongue and an embarrassingly obnoxious manner. We were downstairs, talking quietly about our lovely two days in this beautiful city, when he came stomping in and scolded us from above for breaking the rules. He didn’t even make eye contact with any of us. Then he stomped through the building, made another unprofessional remark, and disappeared. It took two stars off the hotel’s otherwise exceptional charm.

I remembered the place from its youth hostel days, so the spontaneous visit was a pleasant surprise. The room was on the small side, but had what I needed for a few nights, and there’s a large parking lot. The staff were very friendly. Getting there is the drawback. Without a car, coming back from the theater in the evening can be awkward, especially if you’ve stayed for a drink at the bar and don’t want to walk.

The planning for our family celebration went smoothly, even though we were coordinating from a distance and only needed emails and phone calls to sort it out. The rooms were spotless and, while not especially large, were perfectly fine for six people to relax in before the main event. We had several overnight stays and catering, and the whole occasion was absolutely wonderful. The staff were among the most courteous and attentive we’ve encountered. The value for money was excellent too. We’d love to return. Warm wishes from Nuremberg.

Everything went perfectly when we celebrated two birthdays here, with overnight stays and breakfast. Both we and our guests were extremely happy. Thanks to the whole team, and highly recommended.
