We kept asking why the 50 euro deposit hadn’t been returned, and only got an answer three weeks later: it was being held back. No proof or valid reason was given. We’d already paid 60 euros for cleaning in cash, but despite asking more than once, we got no receipt for that or for the deposit. The whole thing was really disappointing and concerning. If you stay here, take pictures before and after, and ask for receipts whenever you pay the owner in cash. We wouldn’t recommend the place, since there are similar properties that likely don’t have such questionable practices.

The house itself was great, and when we pointed out a dripping tap, they offered to fix it right away and gave us compensation. The area around it was less appealing, though. The roads are in terrible shape, and there are several eyesores nearby, including unfinished houses.

We were five adults with our dog at Haus MeerZeit. The place was clean, comfortable, and had a little fenced playground for the kids. It’s in a lovely, quiet spot, with Jade Bay an easy walk away. The Ahlers village bakery bread delivery was excellent too. We did miss having a small kiosk or something along those lines, though maybe one will be added later.

We rented the Sehestedt farmhouse for three nights with my four children, daughter-in-law, and dog, and had a wonderful time. The house was really cozy and had everything we needed. The open fireplace and spacious sauna were our favorite parts. Service on site was straightforward and reliable. We’ll definitely come back.
