Lake Ternscher is only a ten-minute walk away, and what a great location. The ground-floor apartment at Haus Kummer has a terrace, garden, and barbecue area, and we rented it for three days. It’s on a very quiet side street just outside Selm, about a ten-minute drive for shopping. The place is fenced all the way around, which works well for families with young children, and it’s wonderfully peaceful. The rooms are inviting and thoughtfully laid out. There’s plenty nearby for hiking, walking, or cycling if swimming isn’t your thing. We still think fondly of those days, they were balm for the soul. If you want to arrive somewhere in Germany/North Rhine-Westphalia and immediately feel like you’re on holiday, this is the spot.

There’s a lake nearby, and I’d recommend the apartment overall. It was spacious, very clean, and in a quiet area with friendly people, so I had a very pleasant stay. The one drawback was that it wasn’t easy to get in touch with the owners.
