Gasthof Rössle

We had a warm welcome after stopping for the night on our drive back to the UK from Italy. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the food at the hotel was excellent. The busy restaurant made it look very popular. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, just what we needed before continuing the journey. Parking was great, and we enjoyed a pleasant walk from the hotel into Sendon to stretch our legs after the long drive and pick up provisions from the good selection of shops.

Breakfast was already waiting at our table in the morning, with fresh fruit, yoghurt, juice, ham, cheese and delicious fresh bread. No need to keep getting up for food. We enjoyed the beer and meal the night before too. The place was spotlessly clean, with lovely traditional decor and a modern touch. Staff in traditional German attire gave us a warm welcome. We stayed on the way to Italy and found this small hotel and restaurant lovely. Definitely recommend it!

We had the Sauerbraten, Schnitzel and Venison, all delicious and very good value. The service was super friendly, and the outdoor area at the back was lovely, full of beautiful flowers. We came for dinner on a Monday evening and will definitely be back.

The rooms were clean and spacious, dinner at the restaurant was delicious, and breakfast was easily five stars. The staff at breakfast were helpful and attentive to detail. Still, the arrival on our return trip to Slovenia was a bad experience. We were exhausted after a long drive and arrived to find reception closed, with nobody reachable by phone or email. We waited outside for 40 minutes with our two kids while everything was shut and all the employees had left. By chance, someone on staff opened the back door and was surprised to see us. He said we should have received an email explaining how to get in, but nothing arrived. Who checks email during holidays anyway? He apologized and was very kind. As feedback, if the hotel is closed, guests need to be able to reach someone by phone, both to get in and for emergencies. If you send an email, make sure guests have actually seen it. I think this warrants compensation. The hotel isn’t expensive, but it isn’t free either.
