A peaceful, lovely place to unwind.

The catering they work with was fantastic, and the owner was lovely. We had our dream wedding there on September 30, 2023 đź©·. The old half-timbered house and big park with its pond made such a romantic, peaceful setting. The kids could play freely without us worrying, and even the neighbors weren't bothered by the celebration noise. It had everything we could've wanted.

The rooms are decorated with real style, and the monastery itself is beautiful. It sits in a quiet, wooded valley by a stream below the dam. There's a garden, two conservatories, two halls, and a dining room used for breakfast. It's a lovely spot for events like weddings. Hotel services are available only during events, and since the restaurant on site has closed, you need to arrange outside catering.

The buffet is in a pretty glass room overlooking the woods and a small stream. There was enough choice, but it still didn't make the high room price feel justified. We didn't feel looked after by the staff, more like we were just being put up with. At the buffet, a man in a vest came by with a vacuum cleaner and, sounding annoyed, said he had to wait because he couldn't bother anyone. This is only about the hotel services, not the beautiful conference venue. At €145 a night, the rooms and services fell short, though without an official price list I can't say for sure whether we, as wedding guests, had a special rate. The rooms are dark, with no air conditioning, which was tough in the height of summer. The beds were wonderful and there was loads of storage. The bathrooms are large and nicely done, but the showers are cramped, so you have to be careful or wipe up around the bathtub afterward. Wi-Fi is essential there, but it was so poor that even simple text messages took a long time to send. The venue was beautiful and worked extremely well for a wedding. The hotel service during our stay, unfortunately, left a lot to be desired.

That big hall was fantastic for celebrating our wedding at the Klosterhof. The hotel stay afterward was a real disappointment. At €145 a night, I expected more, and we, the bride and groom, weren't offered any discount, even though our wedding had filled the hotel. The staff weren't very attentive either. Breakfast was rubbery rolls, just a small choice of spreads, and scrambled eggs, nowhere near worth the price. The rooms need updating and a proper clean, and there was no air conditioning.
