Meeting Karoline Knotten at breakfast was a real highlight. She was staying at the farm too, and sharing the room with a Norwegian biathlete we could watch on the track just hours later made for a special memory. Our stay during the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding went wonderfully. The family who runs Herbstbauernhof were exceptionally welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived, and breakfast was excellent and nicely balanced. We’d happily recommend it, especially in January when the overall World Cup title is up for grabs.

The fresh breakfast was generous and thoughtfully put together, with something for everyone, including eggs from the henhouse and fresh fruit. We spent a lovely week here with our two toddlers, and the Obermayer family made us all feel at home. Everything was very professionally run and spotless. It’s a great base for heading to the mountains, Lake Chiemsee, or Lake Königssee. We also took home some schnapps from their own distillery for our loved ones. We’d love to return.

Children are in their element at Herbstbauernhof, and we found the hosts so warm and welcoming. Our renovated room had lovely details, and breakfast was excellent, with everything we could want. A perfect stay, highly recommended.

There’s plenty for children here, from the playground and pedal cars to picture books and all the farm animals: goats, rabbits, horses, cows, and chickens. Our room had beautiful parquet floors, and the breakfast was lovingly prepared. The hosts were extremely welcoming, and the location worked well for excursions around the region.

Sunday's homemade apple strudel from Mama Rosi Obermayer was my biggest treat. We felt so comfortable at Herbstbauernhof that we already know we’ll be back. Mama Rosi gave us a very friendly welcome, and our lovely room had a balcony with a mountain view. The breakfast room was cozy, and breakfast had plenty of variety, with nothing missing.
