The service really made the visit for me. It was friendly, attentive, and quick, a level of service I hadn't experienced in a long time. The food is mostly traditional German-Bavarian, tasty and filling, and the terrace has a stunning view across the Chiemgau area. You can see so far from up there. I recommend it.

The meals were generous, rustic, and genuine, and we were looked after very well as part of a touring group. Maria Eck has a lovely feel to it, surrounded by nature high in the Bavarian mountains. There’s real attention to detail here, and the panorama of the local area made it a fantastic experience.

My parents got married there, and the chapel looks just like something from a book. The place itself is beautiful and picturesque. I can't judge the restaurant, though with how packed it was, I doubt it would get a bad review. Definitely worth the trip.

We planned to stay at the hotel for two nights. The first night was nice, but at dinner on the second, we complained that what they brought wasn't what we'd ordered. The hotel took the position that it wasn't their problem and that it was our mistake. We paid in full, as we had always intended to, but expected at least an apology or something to improve the experience. There was nothing, just arrogance. The service was good until we complained.
