The place has a warm feel to it, and the food has been delicious every time, with enough variety and quality for everyone in our group. We were impressed after our first meal and later held two big family gatherings at Hotel & Restaurant Alte Schule. We had hoped to hold a third, but the pandemic closures got in the way. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and we’re looking forward to coming back for more celebrations.

Breakfast was generous, and the restaurant food was worth the trip on its own. Our room was clean, the service was excellent, and the hotel was spotless. It’s also handy for the highway exit, with Hamburg city centre about a 30-minute drive away. A wonderful hotel and restaurant for the price, and a real culinary treat.

For anyone driving to or from Travemünde port, this is a really convenient stop, about a 45-minute drive from the port. It’s in a small village, 1-2 km from the Autobahn and away from possible traffic jams in the greater Hamburg area. The hotel was modern and clean, and the staff were very helpful. I can definitely recommend it to travellers with a car.

The breakfast was very good, and the rooms were comfortable. Service was also very good at this excellent hotel near Grosshansdorf. If you need gluten-free bread rolls, make sure to call ahead.

They looked after all my needs and made me feel very welcome. The staff are lovely, the hotel is beautiful, and the food is delicious. There’s also a nice range of good beers. Even if you’re not staying here, it’s worth a visit.
