We stayed just one night and would come back. The house is cute, though the ceilings are very low, and we bumped our heads more than once. Check-in was really smooth, but there’s very little English spoken. It was handy that the homestay has a restaurant too, so we could get beers and snacks. Breakfast was typically German.

The upstairs was basically an attic where you could barely stand, and it got like a furnace at night. In the kitchen there was an old sponge and hardly any cleaning detergent. The house was a disappointment. From day one, the host was really unfriendly and aggressive. She didn’t help with any of our problems and seemed to have problems with everyone. We wish we’d checked the recent reviews first. When we wanted to use our own gas grill in the backyard, she refused in an unpleasant way. The neighbors, who were very kind, offered us a spot on their property to grill, and she seemed really annoyed. She even filmed us there without permission. Later she rudely asked where we had parked and whether we’d paid the neighbor. When we left, they treated us as if we were the unfriendly ones and told us not to come back. You can see how guests are treated from the replies to other negative reviews. I wish others wouldn’t book just because of the location.

Check-in closed at 7 p.m., and we arrived six minutes late, so we couldn’t get in. The owner wouldn’t give us the key box code over the phone. A nice family from the UK staying there told us they’d received the same treatment. The apartments look nice, but the owner is unbelievably unfriendly. Her replies to other guests’ complaints are worth a look. There are nicer places nearby for less money. Stay away.

The house was dirty and felt like it was made for hobbits. From check-in to check-out, the host was unfriendly and impossible to talk to. We felt unwelcome straight away and regretted staying within the first minute of meeting her. We asked to use our very safe, lidded gas grill and she said no in a really unfriendly way. We were only allowed to use the coal grill in the common area, which was totally okay, but there was no coal and they weren’t selling any. While we were loading the car, a neighbor offered his land for our gas grill for free. He was the friendliest man and also let us use his parking spot, even though they don’t have one. He made our trip more fun. She took photos of us while we were eating without asking and gave us a disturbing look. At checkout, she asked whether we’d paid to use the land and insisted it wasn’t the neighbor’s, though she also said it wasn’t hers. It wasn’t her business, since we hadn’t used her land at all. I guess she yelled at us not to come back just because we’d been friendly with her neighbor. Don’t worry, we’d never come back. About the host’s reply: that’s a lie. Nobody complained to us, and we never met the ‘real owners’. You can’t take our photo without asking. She didn’t speak to us that night, just photographed us from the upper garden without saying anything. And we didn’t barbecue in the house, we made Raclette, which is no different from using a stove. She’s basically blaming guests who didn’t like her hosting. Good luck in life.

The food was good, and they treated us really well. We did have to wait a long time for our order.
