Stuttgart Marriott Hotel Sindelfingen

Breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly. The room was a good standard, though the bathroom felt unnecessarily tiny. The executive lounge was basic, but nice to have. The pool was great, but the water was pretty cold when I was there.

I’m really disappointed with Marriott and this particular location. I paid in advance for a reserved king-size bed, but when I arrived, I was given a smaller bed and no compensation was offered. Rooms used to have bottled water, and guests used to get a complimentary drink on arrival. Now prices are higher and they offer nothing.

The main problem came at checkout. I asked again for the receipt to be issued in my name before leaving early, and after the captain checked out later, he repeatedly asked the same on my behalf. Staff confirmed several times, but said it couldn’t be done. Yet they issued a receipt in the engineer’s name under the same payment arrangement, with the captain paying for him too. The receipt ended up in the captain’s name, so I couldn’t claim my Marriott Bonvoy points for a room booked in my name. My later points claim was denied. I can’t see why they could make the adjustment for one guest but not for me, and it felt very unfair. There were other issues during my stay at Marriott Stuttgart. At check-in, I clearly asked for the receipt in my name because the reservation was under my name and I wanted the Marriott Bonvoy points. I’d forgotten my credit card and explained that the captain would pay for me and the engineer. Later, I got a call in my room saying I’d receive a 1,000-point bonus, which I accepted in good faith. Our team had just one day and needed uniforms cleaned before 9:00 a.m. the next morning. We called housekeeping several times to arrange pickup, but nobody came, so the uniforms were never collected or cleaned. We had to wear dirty uniforms the next day, which is completely unacceptable for professional crew members. At breakfast, the receptionist was extremely rude and made things uncomfortable. I didn’t take it further after he apologized and acted more professionally the next day, but it added to my dissatisfaction. I wasn’t planning to leave a review, but this run of problems left me feeling I had to. The stay fell far below the standard I expect from a Marriott property, and I hope they take this feedback seriously and review their procedures so other guests don’t have the same experience.

Denise was extremely polite and helped me with check-in. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and the hospitality was awesome. I’d call this a decent Marriott compared with others. Thanks to everyone, keep up the good work 👍
