Breakfast was good, but the stay wasn’t worth the price. The bedside lamp didn’t work, the safe in the closet was out of order, and the air conditioning just blew air without cooling. The pillows flattened under their own weight; we asked for extras, but that didn’t solve the problem. Our room was beside the seventh-floor entrance, so we heard every person coming through. When the door slammed, sometimes the wall would shudder.

The rooms were fairly spacious and clean.

We were there for three nights in October. The shower head sprayed in every direction, and the bedside lamp was still hanging off. Three days before we arrived, we got an email saying water damage at the restaurant meant the three-course meal we’d paid for wouldn’t be available, with no refund. Breakfast was brought to our room instead. The receptionist was very friendly and delivered it herself.

It was a complete disappointment from the start. I got a gift voucher for the hotel last year and tried several times to book dates, but every date I suggested was rejected without explanation. After almost a year, I was finally due to go, even though the voucher was only valid for one year and would then expire. I had to take extra vacation time to make the trip. Then, just two days before arrival, I was emailed that the dinner-and-breakfast package I’d booked couldn’t be provided and wouldn’t be refunded. I spoke with Ms. Seile, who said extending the voucher wasn’t possible, even though it still had two months before expiring. When I politely asked Ms. Seile to let me speak to the manager, she refused straight away and offered no help. She was rude and disregarded my concerns. I asked if there was any way to contact the manager to explain the issue, and was again told a flat-out “No.” I wasn’t given any chance to speak directly about my dissatisfaction or find a solution. I can’t understand how the hotel can treat its guests with such an unprofessional and uncooperative attitude. The customer service was appalling, and the whole experience was a disaster.

We found the hotel through a voucher provider and booked three nights, including a breakfast buffet and one three-course dinner. The building is a tower that also houses doctors, lawyers, and others, which left us a bit confused. We got the impression that the place wanted to be a hotel but hadn’t quite made that work. Check-in starts at 4 p.m.; otherwise, you can try calling the number provided. The woman at “reception” greeted us warmly and explained everything. The rooms were modern, simply furnished, and to our taste, though the air conditioning only worked so-so and nights were quite warm. We kept the curtains shut and blinds down all the time to stop the rooms heating up more during the day. Parking was awkward: there are four spaces in front of the hotel for guests, and you need luck to get one. Otherwise, we were told to park on the street for a fee. We got a spot, probably because we were there during the week and not on holiday. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. It wasn’t what you’d picture as a classic buffet: there was a coffee machine, a small table with orange juice, glasses, water, salt and pepper, and little yogurt cups. Two cereal containers and bowls were set out, rolls came from the kitchen in a small basket, and there was a cold cuts platter and a small bowl of jam and similar things. We’d never seen anything like it. The room has potential, but it needs decluttering. The TV, desk-like piece, and large empty, unconnected “display case” take up space. Removing them would leave room to put more buffet items on the sideboard. Staff were friendly and helpful, and asked whether we wanted scrambled, fried, or boiled eggs. The three-course meal was mostly ready-made products, apart from the appetizer and the strawberries for dessert. The kitchen looked small, but we still felt they could do more. We weren’t expecting anything huge after our first impression and had suspected it might be ready-made food. It was fine for one evening, but nothing more. Both meals were just okay. The room also hadn’t been properly cleaned. The same spots were dusty when we arrived and when we left, including behind the bathroom cosmetic bin, and there were visible dust bunnies under the sink. We think there’s a lot of room for improvement. To us, it felt more like an apartment with a few extras, and we don’t think the regular price is reasonable.
