The room was comfortable, breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. As IHG members, we appreciated getting a late checkout. Shops, restaurants, and the train station are all within walking distance. The downside was the heat: there’s no air conditioning, and opening the window didn’t make it easy to sleep in the evening.

The staff seemed indifferent, and breakfast was limited, bland, and not very exciting. My shower head leaked, and the hotel felt a bit tired. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the station.

We found it good value for money, much cheaper than staying in Switzerland, with the border only 5 km away. They charge 10 EUR per night for parking, and the staff were polite and helpful. You also get a free transport pass for your whole stay, which makes taking trains and buses really convenient. The station is a 10-minute walk away, and shops and restaurants are within walking distance. A handy base for exploring Schaffhausen, Stein am Rhein, and Konstanz.
