We were in town April 28-29 with my elderly father and sister, hoping to see where my mother's family came from before she left East Germany as a young woman. The central location made getting around on foot easy, and I wish we'd had longer to get to know everyone. Our room was tidy, clean and practical, with a mix of modern touches and a nostalgic East German look. The two young blonde women who helped us, one at check-in and the other in the hotel restaurant, were both lovely and very helpful. The service was excellent.

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and serves good German food. The hotel itself is charming, with clean, standard rooms and good service. Breakfast is good value too, at EUR7 for the buffet with brewed coffee.

The restaurant and food were great, and the hotel's central spot comes with a wonderful view of the fort. The staff were very nice too. My room carpet was a bit worn, but at this price I can't complain.

The rooms are nice, the food is good, and the WiFi is really fast. Friendly staff, too.
