The village center is an easy walk, and the houses sit in a lovely garden. I first heard about this hotel from a German friend about twenty years ago and have stayed more than once since, most recently in 2012 while driving from Norway to Italy. It’s cosy and comfortable. If you’re looking for a proper bed and breakfast at a good price, it’s a good place to stay.

The room we got had no terrace or balcony, even though the tourist office website showed a double room with a terrace available, and we’d received written confirmation after asking by email. The house is very well maintained but showing its age, and the furnishings are dated too. The bathroom, though, has been renovated with modern fittings. There was also a somewhat unpleasant smell in both the house and our room. Breakfast felt cramped. We were assigned a specific table, and it wasn’t clear how that system worked. Bread rolls, butter, jam and honey were already on the table. There was a small buffet of cheese and cold cuts, plus a self-service coffee machine. Eggs were cooked fresh for an extra charge. Parking is free.
