Gasthaus & Pension am Rennsteig

I was the only guest during my one-night stay. The room was clean, pleasant, and already prepared. A really good place to stay, with very friendly owners.

The drinks shop in the building meant nobody had to go thirsty 😋. It’s also a great spot for hikers and bikers. When my reservation had gone missing, they sorted it out right away and had me in a room a few minutes later. They even drove me to a supermarket so I could get food. Definitely five stars 🌟

I really appreciated how flexible the landlady and her husband were about my needs, and the service was excellent. The dining room felt cozy and the food was good. Rooms are simple, with bathrooms out in the hallway. Since the guesthouse sits right on the Rennsteig, it’s ideal for hikers on the trail.

After finishing a Rennsteig hike, this was a perfect place to stop. The innkeeper gave me a warm welcome, and dinner was delicious, though you need to reserve before arriving. My room was spacious, with a sofa, table, and chairs. I’m not usually keen on shared bathrooms, but it worked surprisingly well and everything was very clean. Breakfast was excellent.
