A quiet spot with fields, woods, and birdsong, good for a hiking break or a night on the road away from the highway. The breakfast is proper German style, with quality food and bread from the baker across the street. It’s a small family-run place, cared for with a lot of love by a lovely older couple. The house and furniture are old, and the Wi-Fi is weak, but everything is clean and looked after. It has the comfortable feeling of staying with your grandparents.

The campsite is a godsend by comparison. The owner, though, is extremely hot-tempered and yells at customers and people who might become customers, even threatening to report them to the police for backing into a parking space. Dogs don’t seem welcome either. Even if they lie quietly under the table in the beer garden, you may be asked to leave. I’d strongly advise against going there. Zero stars isn’t an option.

The service was very friendly, and the price is more than reasonable. If modern, up-to-date amenities aren’t important to you, you may still be satisfied. This hotel was probably really good several years ago. These days, the wear shows in every corner, especially in the rooms.
