Gasthaus zum Halbmond

The reviews seemed okay and the location looked pretty good, so I booked two nights. After the first, I decided to lose the money and go somewhere else for night two. We arrived at night in the rain. There was no reception, just a phone number on the door. When we called, they said someone would come open the door in 10 minutes. While we waited outside, a huge rat came out of a partly open window and ran into the street. It was the window of the hotel restaurant’s kitchen. Then a woman in pajamas let us in through the back service door. Our room clearly hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. The sheets were dirty, and there was a used bra on top of the heater. The curtain might as well not have been there, and a lamp post right in front of our room made it very hard to sleep. The hotel seemed pretty much abandoned by the owners. It felt really decadent and depressing.
