The park was a real highlight, beautifully laid out, and I only wish there had been a few more books to enjoy there. The apartment itself was nicely furnished, but the kitchen was almost completely unequipped. We had to cut meat with a cake server and dress salad in a pot. There was no colander, spatula, can opener, or many other basics, so cooking wasn’t really possible. The terrace was also unusable: it was on the sunny side with no parasol, and at least 30 swallows were nesting under the roof right above it. They were nice to watch, though. We’d been looking forward to a holiday somewhere beautiful and secluded. I’d asked about the earliest arrival time beforehand and was told before 9:00 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m. We arrived at 8:35 a.m., after setting out at 5:00 a.m. without breakfast, with our dog in the car. The welcome was so awful that I still wish I’d left straight away. I wanted to, and the whole situation felt unacceptable. The landlady only reluctantly got up to fetch the key after I showed her the email. At first we were told to drive to McDonald’s in Grimmen and return at 2:00 p.m. After I pleaded, she finally handed over the keys, very grumpily. The apartment was ready, so I couldn’t understand what the problem was. She also asked when we could take our dog out, saying it had to be arranged because her own dog was allowed to roam freely. Our dog had to stay on a leash and couldn’t go out between 7 and 9 a.m. Meanwhile, the farm dog spent the day throwing its food bowl around and barking, which kept everyone entertained. It was quite nice, actually... We felt unwelcome every day and left after 3 of our 7 days, glad to be gone. It’s very, very hard to get into a holiday mood when you don’t feel welcome. Hospitality is a skill that has to be learned, and the lady of the house should leave it to someone who knows how. My advice is to please not go there. We all have to save for our holidays and look forward to having a good time, so being treated like this is outrageous. At the very least, they should have refunded the money for the dog that had to be given to the lady.

The rooms are modern and new, and the place is very nice for anyone looking for peace and quiet.

We got lost on the road and turned around well before we reached the farm. The owner was walking with her dog and insulted and threatened us. I apologized sincerely and explained that we were lost, but she kept going. We hadn’t even come close to the farm. I’d advise everyone to stay away from this house. The owners keep getting this review removed, but it keeps coming back. When my first review disappeared, nine new five-star reviews suddenly showed up on the same day. Hopefully the lawyer will be very expensive, and so will the bought positive reviews.
