The concierge acts like he owns the place and is completely unfriendly. Service is awful, most things are broken, and it feels impossible to stay there. Better keep moving than book a hotel like this. It reminds me of a bad hotel abroad.

I was told the Käsespätzle had run out, yet people who came into the canteen after me took generous servings of it. They even served it again that evening, but my classmates and I couldn't have any because it supposedly wasn't included in the price. Coffee and other hot drinks weren't included either. Food is thrown away instead of letting guests take it along for breakfast, and the claims about how much food is available are plainly made up. The staff in this “hotel” and “canteen” are completely unacceptable. I'm disgusted with these “hosts,” and they seemed just as disgusted with me. Next time I'll sleep in my car.
It's in a quiet spot, though the town center is a 15-20 minute walk away. I was here for a seminar, and the hotel does a very good job, from the food to how clean the rooms are. It's not a five-star place, of course, but that's not what a conference hotel is for. The staff are friendly and ready to help. The kitchen can handle almost any request, whether it's a food intolerance or something you can't or prefer not to eat for religious reasons.
The hotel is spotless and can work well for an overnight stay when you have things to do in Springe or nearby. Still, as a repeat guest I sometimes leave feeling uneasy, and more like I'm being tolerated than welcomed. Say “good evening” and maintenance may just stare at you sternly before leaving. Cleaning staff sometimes disregard a “no” when they come in and empty the bin anyway. When a misunderstanding involving classmates came up, the manager didn't want to discuss it. Later, a whole year group was named and publicly accused in the entrance, apparently without enough information about what had happened or which guests were involved in the hotel's off-site behavior. For a stay of about a week, the cafeteria's menu is limited, and its prices are high for a cafeteria. The rooms also get very hot in summer. It's a shame a hotel connected with the air conditioning and refrigeration industry has no air conditioning. As school accommodation, it's adequate. Rooms have a fridge, a TV with 19 channels, though its settings are outdated, a desk, a bathroom with a shower and large vanity, wardrobes, and carpeted floors.
Being so close to the forest is great if you enjoy nature. I've stayed here a few times, mostly for vocational school, and can definitely recommend it. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the value for the price is excellent.
