Das Vesper

The restaurant was amazing, and the wine list was great too. The rooms were lovely.

The vegan meals I requested were amazing, though there weren’t any vegan snacks, cake, or coffee options during the day. I also wish the buffet had signs saying what the food was. The public areas and new rooms were nicely furnished, but my bathroom floor had quite a few hairs on it, so my room wasn’t very clean.

The conference facilities were impressive, with roomy halls that can handle more than 25 people each, projector screens, extension boards for power, good Wi-Fi, and complimentary drinks. I was there for a two-day office workshop and really enjoyed the stay. The food was amazing, from lunch and dinner to the coffee and snacks, and the hotel’s facilities were great. I also got to try chipping and long shots on the impressive golf course with help from the experts. Hopefully I’ll get to visit again someday!

The 18-hole Gut Frielinghausen course (PAR 71) had some great views across the hills, and the greens were in good shape and quite fast. Its steep ups and downs took some getting used to, and having a buggy was definitely useful. The very first hole felt intimidating, with a shot over a pond and uphill to the hole. Before playing, we had lunch on the terrace overlooking the putting green, a nice Schnitzel and a beer. The friendly golf reception let us warm up with balls hit from the grass at the driving range, which isn’t standard at most courses. We can’t wait to come back and try the other course, Felderbach.
