The apartment itself was exactly what we expected from the photos, and we had no issues with the furnishings. They were well used for their age, but not damaged, battered, or shabby. It had few extras, which meant there were no decorations or floor and table lamps for our children to get into. The service was fast and good. Our Bavarian Forest tickets were ready when we arrived, and the children's cereal bowls were brought over right away. I appreciated that. The courtyard car repair shop didn't bother us. In my view there was no unnecessary noise or particular danger to the children. The road running almost around the house was similar. The modern cowshed was all steel and concrete, with a cow pat cleaning robot, rather than an old-fashioned farm scene. We saw nearly ten calves of different ages and found it really interesting to see a modern mother cow farm up close. At the farm shop, milk and eggs were fairly priced. The pasta dishes were less appealing for the price, and the advertised soft-serve ice cream machine wasn't there. We were disappointed by the farm experience compared with what the website led us to expect. If you're looking for accommodation near an amusement park or other attractions, I can recommend it. But I wouldn't recommend it as readily if you're expecting the farm holiday pictured in the online promises. We didn't see the other advertised animals as expected. One dog was too old and another too young, and signs asked holidaymakers to leave the dogs alone. We were told the rabbits had been taken by the fox. The remaining rabbits roam freely and only come out after the children are in bed. The goats were on loan to the amusement park. We only realized on our last day that the chickens and sheep were behind a depot, and hadn't dared go there because we didn't know it was part of the farm. The cat had apparently died recently. The new cat had been taken over by the grandchildren, or perhaps our children had chased it away. The grandchildren seemed elementary school age, and were cheeky and possessive with us. They used their advantage in age and numbers to tease our children. When I stepped in, they answered back cheekily. I don't want that on holiday. We mostly stayed away from the barbecue area and playground. I hardly saw other families there either. The toddler swing and trampoline felt unsafe for our toddlers, so you have to keep your attention on them. There was dog poop on the playground. It seems to get cleaned twice a week, but I still think it's crap. After reading the website, I'd imagined relaxing with the other guests over a shandy while watching the children play, pull grass, and feed the farm animals. We avoided that situation instead. It's not a place where small children can just run around while you relax. Despite my warnings and complaints, my request for a price reduction was refused. I was told I could wait until the manager came back to the farm. I didn't need that during my holiday either, and paid the full bill. I got the impression the grandchildren were used to teasing guests' children, and that the owners and their children were used to criticism. I deducted two stars for the promises about the animals and atmosphere that weren't met, and for the grandchildren's behavior. I deducted another star because they didn't understand my request for a reduction.

I'm only commenting on the fresh egg dispenser. These are some of the tastiest eggs I've ever had. The pasta is delicious too, and the milk is very good, though it's raw milk and needs to be boiled once. Highly recommended.

The farm has a very open, welcoming feel and makes a lovely impression. I could imagine spending a holiday here, though I only stopped by for fresh milk. I bought raw milk from the vending machine. A reusable bottle costs €1, and a litre of milk costs the same. That seems completely fair to me, and I'm happy to keep buying local. Eggs and other small items are available too. Great!

A lovely holiday farm with friendly hosts. They have dairy cows, and you can buy fresh milk directly from the farm shop vending machines. Parking is free, and Wi-Fi is free too, though unfortunately it doesn't reach every room.
