Appartementhotel Stade

The room was clean, neat, and very good. Getting there by train isn't ideal since it's quite far from everything, and I hadn't realized the key had to be collected somewhere else. Maybe a key safe at the house could work.

At €89, room #2 felt far too expensive. The bed is falling apart, and the terrace is filthy. The room wasn't very clean either. The bathroom door won't stay shut or lock, so it kept swinging open while I was on the toilet.

We chose the place for a cycling trip, and its quiet rural setting worked perfectly. The town center is only a five-minute drive away. We spent three nights in apartment 3, a roomy place with a large bathroom and the essentials, though the kitchen could use more equipment. It's an old farmhouse conversion and apparently often used by tradespeople. The bed was really uncomfortable because the floor slopes beneath it, leaving it noticeably tilted. My husband gave up and slept on the sofa, while I somehow managed in the bed.

The apartment was a good place to stay, and I'd gladly come back. It was spacious, clean, well equipped, and well kept, even though the outside of the building doesn't look like much. The mattresses were very comfortable, hot water came quickly, and every appliance worked. There were instructions for anything that might be unfamiliar. The area was quiet, and the walls kept sound out well. I did find the fridge noisy and the kitchen counter space limited. On warm nights, mosquitoes made it impossible to sleep with the window open, and I really missed having window screens. I'd recommend it for one or two people on vacation.
