The location is great for getting around, and the host was friendly. But our family room was so noisy that we could barely sleep. The bed, floor, chairs, everything squeaked. It was also super hot, with no air conditioning and no window screens.

We had a spacious room with a bunk bed and a double bed, plus a separate shower and bathroom. Some rooms don't have their own bathroom, and some are in a building a few metres from the main one with no lift. Parking is available on site. We used this family-run Gasthof as a stop after visiting Neuschwanstein castle, while travelling from western southern Germany. The service was excellent and personal, and we had dinner in the lovely restaurant after arriving. There were lots of choices and they were flexible with the menu. We didn't have breakfast, but it was available for 10 EUR per person in July 2025. If you find the place on a booking platform, call the hotel, as they may offer a better price.

We slept really well, and our room was comfortable. We even got a free upgrade. The owner or manager was very friendly, despite juggling a children's birthday party, and check-in times were flexible. She was still there after my flight was delayed, which I appreciated. It seemed to be family-run. Sadly, the restaurant was closed, so we couldn't try the local food. The room temperature was already turned up as high as it would go, but we were still cold, though it was winter in Bavaria. There was no soap or shampoo in the shower, but the upgrade was last minute, so we understand. We spent part of Valentine's weekend in the region and hope to come back.

After a long, hot Corpus Christi day, this was just what we needed. A group of us arrived a bit late, after the kitchen should have closed, but they looked after us very well. Plenty of food and excellent beer came out quickly. They spoke English, and there's an English lady working here. Thanks very much, guys. 👍
