The staff can be hard to communicate with in English, especially about payment and invoices, so there are some limitations. Also, lunch and dinner aren't available because the restaurant only serves breakfast. Reception is staffed only in the morning. For later arrivals, you need to get the key from the box outside using your assigned PIN, and they won't let you know about this unless you tell them you're coming late. Still, it's a beautiful, clean, quiet place with everything you need for a stay.

I left feeling that this stay was less than OK, despite really wanting to like the hotel. After a 100 day tour of mostly big chains like Hilton, Radisson & Co, I deliberately chose this, expecting a boutique hotel. I was also hoping to scout it for our princess for one day event. When I arrived, the whole hotel was dark, and I had to use my torch to find the key and get inside. The rooms have color names instead of numbers. I was assigned Orange but had no idea which floor or where to find it, so I wandered around the staircase, which thankfully had automatic lighting, with my heavy suitcase. After my stroke, I still need to take stairs slowly. The room itself was very clean and spacious, though the decor felt very yesterday. I knew breakfast wasn't being offered, and I'm willing to make concessions because of Covid, but I'd booked a hotel, not a b&b. When I tried to check out at 9am, there was still nobody there, and the service attitude wasn't acceptable. I doubt I'd return. I haven't given two stars in a while, but this could've been better.

The countryside is beautiful, and the venue feels unique. It has a traditional atmosphere and professional service, so it's always worth visiting.
