Hotel & Spa Suiten Freiwerk

We've stayed here twice now and love the hotel and restaurant, even if they're a little expensive. We still think it's worth it. It's very pet friendly, and the staff are always kind. Breakfast is great, with lots of local products made fresh. There's so much nature around that the lack of hotel activities doesn't really matter. This time, though, we missed the dog treats in the room and the honey or jam at departure. Those little touches made a difference last year. Also, the English translation on the website and the room iPad doesn't work properly.

The warmth of the team is what stays with me most. They were professional while still making guests feel genuinely cared for, took every request seriously, and sorted out even small problems with a smile. That kind of hospitality is rare and makes a big difference. Hotel Freiwerk has real character. Its architecture brings modern design together with historic charm, and the whole place feels authentic and thoughtfully put together. My room was spotless and calming, with every detail seeming chosen to make it comfortable. The food was another highlight. Eating at the Freiwerk felt like a journey, with creative, precise dishes and memorable flavours. The ingredients were excellent, and each plate showed real craft and passion. I've seen and managed many properties over the years, so I notice the details, and this stay impressed and delighted me in a way that doesn't happen often. The Freiwerk feels like a retreat where you can breathe and relax. It offers more than a place to sleep, it creates the kind of experience that lasts.

We loved our two-night stay. They gave us a wonderful upgraded room, and dinner at the restaurant was incredibly delicious. The waiters were attentive and friendly. It was a 10-minute walk to Stolberg. Thanks for making our weekend so cozy and delicious 👍

The rooms were beautiful, and the service was fantastic. After a day hiking or enjoying Stolberg and the surrounding area, the spa is a lovely place to unwind.
