The service was fantastic, and the restaurant was great. Such a lovely place, with beautiful rooms too.

The homemade food is a real highlight, and the restaurant has a brilliant chef. I really like and respect the traditional Bavarian costume, especially the dresses. The owners are so hospitable, and the care they give their customers is first class, right down to the thoughtful details. It's a beautiful place with lovely people, and definitely a jewel to discover in The Black Forest. My room is perfect, the WiFi works well, and the location is great. It's family run, good value, and such a beautiful place to stay.

The waitress was very nice, and she was on her own serving five tables that night, so the wait to order and then to be served was longer than I wanted. I don't think the delays were her fault, or the chef's. The food tasted okay, nothing mind-blowing. Prices felt a bit steep, though I guess they fit the hotel's ambience.

The chef is a star, the food was incredibly good and really well prepared. We ordered a three-course menu but could only manage the starter and main because the portions were so big. The local wines were very nice, and breakfast was great before a full day of driving. It's a genuine German hotel, with very comfortable beds and typically German-style rooms, which I like. The English-speaking staff were very friendly. I can only recommend it!

What made me feel most welcome was the friendly staff. The bedroom was spacious, with simple rustic décor and a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was good too.
