Schwedenlöcher is a great route to try, and the walk near the Bastei is well worth it. This is a lovely spot for exploring Saxon Switzerland, with a nice garden too. It stayed cool inside even with 28 degrees outside.

Dresden and Saxon Switzerland are both an easy drive from this peaceful, idyllic spot. The owners were really friendly and accommodating, and the apartment was a fantastic deal. It made an ideal base for exploring the area.

We had a wonderful stay in the "Vagabunden" apartment, all four of us, two adults and two children. The hosts were especially warm, helpful, and great with kids. The garden was idyllic, and the children loved the stream. Inside, everything was very clean and comfortably furnished, with complete games for children, so we didn't need the ones we'd brought. The price was just right. Stolpen Castle is close by, and places like the Bastei, Lichtenhain Waterfall, and Königstein Fortress took just over half an hour to reach. There's also an adventure pool in the neighboring town. The apartment, on the outskirts of Stolpen, is a handy starting point for trips into Saxon Switzerland. We highly recommend it. The nearby Saxon Switzerland area is full of green mountains, rugged slopes, and breathtaking views. We also enjoyed the old historic buildings, the mix of traditional and modern food, and the animals, including alpacas and ostriches :). The whole area feels idyllic, highly recommended. Back at the apartment, it was cozy, with comfortable furniture, great Wi-Fi, and a pleasant location.
