Hotel Hiddenseer

The terrace view was the best part of our room, which felt a bit cramped and may be too small for some. Still, it was very clean, and the staff were really nice. We stayed at the Hiddenseer for two days while visiting Stralsund (See it in blackandpaper.com). The hotel is right by the aquarium and other bars and eateries, and about a 10-minute walk from the center. We also had dinner at the Hiddenseer restaurant, with a great view.

There’s no elevator, and the stairs are steep. The room was small but comfortable, with a nice view. Breakfast was okay, though I didn’t think it was worth the price, so try the cafe across the street. It’s a charming waterfront hotel with a nautical theme.

We’d been sitting in the restaurant for about five minutes after arriving, and no server had come over, so we picked up a menu that was right behind us to look through. The server then came out ranting that we couldn’t just take a menu and that this wasn’t self-service. More customer-friendly behavior would be appreciated.

The restaurant is close to the water and has a really comfortable interior. The seasonal fish is fresh and well prepared, with delicious side dishes. One of the best restaurants in Stralsund. Hope to come back soon!
