Strandhotel Strande

This was my second stay, and I’ll certainly come back if I’m in the area again. The hotel has spacious, comfortable rooms and impeccable housekeeping, with attentive, helpful staff throughout. Breakfast has a wide selection of quality food, and the welcoming restaurant serves great meals.

We only had lunch here, so this is just about that meal, which was mediocre. The staff were professional, but couldn’t make up for the food. They also weren’t wearing face masks during Covid-19, unlike staff at other restaurants here. The lobster bisque was okay, but the single shrimp in it was grilled until it was rock hard. The linguine with lemon and tomato sauce was overcooked, and the sauce wasn’t very tasty, though it was a large serving. We also ordered grilled haddock with potatoes and sauce. The fish and sauce were both tasteless, and the potatoes were soggy and overcooked. When a restaurant can’t keep potatoes warm without overcooking them, it says a lot about the meal, and this lunch was no exception.

It’s a lovely spot by the water, with a great view of life out at sea. The rooms are clean and nice, and the restaurant has a broad choice of dishes. Service was perfect, with friendly and kind staff. Definitely worth recommending to family and friends.

The beach is just a few meters from the hotel, so the location is perfect. The rooms are in top condition, cleaning is excellent, and everyone on staff is very friendly. I’d definitely stay here again!
