Charmanter Fachwerktraum an der Stadtmauer

There’s firewood ready for the fireplace, and the host leaves lovely extras like water, fresh fruit, and red wine. Every floor has its own look, and the rooms are finished with so much care. The half-timbered house is full of charm in its peaceful rural setting, and it felt welcoming as soon as we walked in. We’d definitely come back.

The Schneider family were happy to chat from their home across the way and share hiking tips and ideas for the area. We also loved sitting outside on the terrace behind the house, whether for a bit of sun, fresh air, or a barbecue. A stream runs right beside the building, and you can hear it gently bubbling away. We spent our 30th wedding anniversary in this lovingly restored half-timbered home in Stromberg’s historic center, below the Stromburg, and felt very comfortable there. It’s spread over 4 floors, all tidy, comfortable, very clean, and furnished with care in the half-timbered style. The top room is a quiet spot for reading or relaxing, while the floor below has a lovely bedroom and a cozy bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need, from spices, vinegar, and oil to fresh coffee beans for the automatic coffee machine. Tea drinkers are well catered for too, with around 14 kinds to choose from. There’s regular heating as well as a wood stove to make things cozy on cold days. A big thank you to the Schneider family. We’d gladly stay here again and again.

We had such a lovely honeymoon in this charming little house. The furnishings are tasteful, and the hosts are incredibly kind. We’d happily recommend it.
