Hotel BaWü

The location is great and the price is good. Breakfast was fine, and I got a good deal booking through booking.com, paying €7 extra. There’s no milk alternative, which was fine for me. They said demand isn’t high, and that makes sense. Coming from the central station, take the route around the right to find a ramp and avoid carrying luggage up the stairs. On the 4th floor you have to share the toilet. The heating also wasn’t very warm.

Cheap and in a great location, that’s about it. We had an early 5 am departure and just needed somewhere to spend half the night, without breakfast. The hotel is very small, the pillows uncomfortable, and there wasn’t even a kettle at reception to get hot water in the middle of the night. Luckily, someone at the hotel next door kindly gave us hot water for free. The bathroom was tiny with nowhere to put clothes. It’s not somewhere I’d stay more than one night, or go to relax.

The location beside the train station is the only real reason to stay here. If you desperately need to be on a train in five minutes, especially for an early departure, it may work. Getting there means almost climbing over a construction area, and the surroundings look dodgy. Avoid going at night, as it’s easy to get lost. The rooms are functional and clean enough for the price, but there’s no AC and you can’t open the window because the highway is right beside it. Reception is often empty at night. They’re supposed to send you a check-in code, but mine came at 1 am. I arrived at 10 pm and called the number on the door four times before reaching anyone. If the price and location suit your needs and you can’t or don’t want to pay for a “real” hotel, go for it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t.

The location is good, and my room was clean and nice. Pay attention to the check-in time: the receptionist isn’t there 24 hours, and they may not be available after 8 pm, so you should speak with them.
