The gym has plenty of functional equipment, and the spa and pool are pleasant too. There’s even a tucked-away sauna on the terrace. Check-in was easy and the renovation looks very nice. Our room was nice, though a little too warm, with no air conditioning. The Italian restaurant menu hasn’t changed in a while, but the bar has burgers and salads. Parking near the train station is just €4 for 24 hours.

We could hear the neighbours all night through the connecting room, which made it hard to feel comfortable or have much privacy. The room was also set up for one person, with only one towel, one pair of slippers and one mug. On top of that, the temperature was stuck very high and couldn’t be adjusted. We had to leave the windows open overnight, so traffic noise kept us from sleeping well, and we felt unwell and exhausted the next morning. This was our second stay, and I was very disappointed. When I reported the problems at reception, I was told they couldn’t refund us because we had paid online. They offered free parking as compensation, which felt disappointing for a hotel of this standing. It didn’t meet what I expect from a hotel in this category, and I won’t be back.

The location is great, and it’s quiet. The Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable, though, and the sauna wasn’t fully operational. Housekeeping didn’t seem well managed, and Accor Membership status, even Platinum, didn’t feel properly recognized. One elevator was out of order, leaving just two running, so mornings got a bit crowded.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a highlight, and the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel was clean, and check-in and checkout were smooth. Still, our room made it hard to relax, especially with a child. A bathroom glass panel was cracked and didn’t feel safe. The room was also much too hot at night, and the thermostat was locked. Reception told us to wait for the AC to start working when we called, but the room never cooled. Opening the windows wasn’t a real answer because of outside noise and safety concerns with our child, and we barely slept. The TV was frustrating too. Its smart features and language settings were locked, and the only channels available were in Deutsch. Only our child, who speaks and understands Deutsch, could watch. The rest of us had no real entertainment in the room, especially during evening downtime. We appreciated the service and enjoyed parts of the stay, but the heat, bathroom safety issue and limited TV options got in the way of being comfortable.
