The Mateika Café cakes are well worth trying in the afternoon, and breakfast there was the real highlight of our stay. It runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (!!!), with whatever you want arranged on tiered trays at your table. We loved the scrambled eggs with North Sea crab and salmon, plus the cold cuts, salads, muesli, and red fruit compote with vanilla sauce. There’s parking behind the hotel, and the beach, promenade, shops, and plenty of restaurants are all close by. The small hotel feels modern but still very family-friendly. Our room was nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable, and we even had a little balcony. Thank you, dear Mateika team, for such lovely days!

Getting around the island was easy, with buses to all the towns and attractions, and Sylt itself is beautiful. We also had a lovely room, though the friendly staff and fantastic breakfast were the real standouts. We'll be back! Barbara and Josef

Breakfast had a fantastic choice, though finding a table was tricky with so many outside guests during the busy stretch between Christmas and New Year's. That’s understandable for such a popular café at peak season. Our room was lovely, and the welcome and attentive, friendly service were great despite how busy it was.

We felt very comfortable in our spotless apartment, where every little detail had been thought through. The house is centrally located but quiet, and parking is right there. Our hostess was lovely, and the staff treated us to delicious coffee and cakes. We had wonderful weather and would gladly return.
