The views across the German countryside were lovely, and getting to the main roads was easy. We stayed the first week of June 2019 and absolutely loved our time here. The owners are wonderful people who really look after you.

We had a wonderful family week here in July 2020. The owners were friendly and easy to communicate with, and the house was clean, spacious, and stylishly furnished. Ten people fit comfortably. It’s also a great base for hiking or cycling.

Hamm is a peaceful little village in a lovely central spot for all kinds of activities, with a good view from the hang-gliding base opposite. We were seven people staying at Maat's Scheuer from July 14th to 19th, 2023. The charm of the quaint house was let down by the ground-floor cleanliness, especially in the kitchen. The oven and baking tray, coffee maker, pots, pans, and kettles were very dirty. The water heater under the sink leaked badly, leaving constant puddles in the cabinet, and it was never fixed despite our complaints. The TV controls were missing and the seating was dirty, too. A real shame. We’d suggest adding a fire extinguisher or fire blanket, kitchen fly screens, and instructions for recycling.

If you like places with a bit of character, this is a wonderfully rustic place to stay.

There’s everything you need in the holiday home, plus a smoking room, sauna, and party room. We’d happily come back.
